Just watched The Secret World of Arrietty, so beautiful.
Wise words, good advice and capsule bios of some of my favourite people in this blog post by Jesse Thorn, public radio personality and host of the not-often-nearly-enough video podcast Put This On.
And now that I think of it, he bears a slight resemblance to a young Andy Partridge. Hmm.
Struggling with drawing a character on-model, which is cartoonist code for “I’m a lazy jackass who doesn’t sketch enough.” :-/
One of the most ridiculously useful and generous blogs by a master of animation, John K(ricfalusi), creator of Ren and Stimpy and animator of the amazing 80s version of Mighty Mouse and many other things. John K is opinionated, pretty much hates the boring and watered down things we now call comics and cartoons, with some exceptions, and he is on a mission to show you how to design and draw and animate stuff that has the kind of energy that he, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones and other legends brought to their work. He has a separate blog devoted solely to teaching animation and many other useful links. So what are you waiting for? Check it out and get inspired!
